Margo Michaels, Executive Director and
President
A former Education Branch Chief at the National
Cancer Institute (NCI), for the last 10 years
Ms. Michaels has developed programs to educate
cancer advocates, community leaders, and health
care professionals about policy and science issues
related to cancer and cancer clinical trials
education. She developed NCI’s Clinical
Trial Ambassador Program, NCI’s Clinical
Trial Education Series, and the Clinical Research:
Affiliates Funding Trials (CRAFT) program at
the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in
Dallas, TX. She was the Director of the National
Breast Cancer Coalition’s Project LEAD
in the late 90’s. Ms. Michaels has extensive
experience in project management, outreach, partnership
development, and creation of educational materials.
She holds an M.P.H. in Health Behavior/Health
Education from the University of North Carolina
School of Public Health.
Natasha Blakeney, Training Director
Natasha has a diverse background in cancer
education and outreach, particularly in reaching
medically underserved communities and working
with health care professionals to improve recruitment
and retention in clinical research. She has
professional experience with the National Cancer
Institute’s Cancer Information Service, the
National Black Leadership Initiative on Cancer,
the Sheps Center for Health Services Research,
and the University of Michigan Comprehensive
Cancer Center. Natasha received her M.P.H.
in Health Behavior/Health Education from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Lawrence Green, Program Assistant
Lawrence is a graduate of Temple University,
where he earned his Bachelor Degrees in Film
and Media Arts and African American Studies
in 2003. Before joining ENACCT in 2006, Lawrence
held a variety of positions with several multimedia
organizations and corporations including PBS,
The Service Employee International Union (SEIU),
The Feedroom, and The Black Documentary Collective.
His years of volunteer work involve tutoring
young inner city adults and assisting TransAfrica
Forum’s program staff, which led him to become
more interested in community based organizations.
Lawrence Green joins ENACCT’s staff enthused
to learn more about access to cancer clinical
trials in order to help eliminate health disparities.
Stacy Collins, Project Coordinator
Stacy is the Project Director for the invitational
conference series Communities as
Partners in Cancer Clinical Trials: Changing
Research, Practice and Policy – a
joint initiative of ENACCT and CCPH (Community-Campus
Partnerships for Health). Ms. Collins has extensive
experience in community health advocacy and
project management, through her work with the
National Association of Children’s Hospitals,
as well as Washington, DC area social service
agencies. She holds an M.S.W. from Catholic
University and a B.A. in Political Science
from the University of Virginia.
Monte Roulier, ENACCT PEP Partnership
Coach
Monte is a Co-Founder and Principal of Community
Initiatives (CI), a network of individuals dedicated
to helping organizations and community collaborations
shape change and accelerate results.
Monte is a process and change strategist, consultant
and facilitator. His work in the areas of team
development, collaborative leadership, performance
measurement and organizational learning includes
a unique mixture of assistance to hundreds of
community and organizational change initiatives.
Prior to Community Initiatives, Monte served
as the Senior Community Advisor at the National
Civic League (NCL), a non-profit organization
dedicated to participative governance and civic
engagement. While at NCL Monte led its nationally
recognized Healthy Communities Program. Monte
also served for five years as President of Service
Adventures, Inc, a business that produced educational
programs, and sustainable development and natural
resource protection projects in Russia and Central
Asia. Monte lives in Columbia, Missouri with
his wife and three kids.
Gina Pokrashevsky, Staff Assistant
Gina is a recent graduate from the University
of Maryland, College Park where she earned her
Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and
a Minor in Public and Community Health. As an
undergraduate, she was a member of Eta Sigma
Gamma, a public health honorary society that
educated local communities about pertinent health
issues.
Gina has also worked and volunteered with several
non-profit organizations such as Habitat for
Humanity and the American Cancer Society’s Relay
for Life. As a new employee of ENACCT, Gina
looks forward to learning more about the field
of health education as she prepares to obtain
her Masters in Public Health.
