What's New at the Decatur Community Partnership

The lead trainers have become more familiar with the material and comfortable presenting the information. By the end of June 2007, we had reached our goal of training 200 community leaders. We continued to see the a “snowball effect” so that when we talk with one group, a member of that group would then ask if we could talk with another group with which he/she was affiliated. Our success was achieved by working as a team to meet our common goal.

This summer, DCP also hosted ENACCT “Optimizing Your Trial Recruitment and Retention Practices” training with much success. 29 clinical trial staffers attended this training which focused on gaining an understanding of local provider concerns about clinical trial barriers, recruitment and retention. Later this fall, we plan to conduct a Health Care Provider Training of Trainers October 23rd – October 25th.
