What's New at COHS

The Breaking It Down Initiative has been expanding its reach in the areas of training, information dissemination, and policy change. We’ve reached over 100 community leaders in Roxbury, Dorchester and Mattapan through workshops and presentations. Over 130 individuals have been engaged on the topic of cancer research at different community and health events. Cherishing Our Hearts Our Souls has been featured in various media outlets including the Boston Globe, Bay State Banner, Channel 7’s Urban Update, and the Boston Neighborhood Network’s (BNN) The People’s Platform.

We made significant strides in the planning of our cancer clinical trials symposium during this summer. We’re in the process of planning our upcoming symposium which will take place October 16, 2007 at University of Massachusetts Boston Campus Center. The symposium is titled “Revolutionizing Access: Cancer Clinical Trials and Communities of Color”.
