This summer, The Cross Cultural Collaborative of Pierce County community leaders and health care provider trainers continued its educational outreach activities about the cancer clinical trials at health fairs, community events, and medical clinics. The Collaborative developed newsletter ads and radio public service announcements to help assist us in this effort.

The Collaborative’s Policy and Advisory Committee (PAC) is making progress with the Washington State Insurance Commissioner Office on clinical trials coverage. Some of the PAC members have joined the Washington State Cancer Comprehensive Control Partnership to further address policy barriers in Pierce County by forming a cancer clinical trials work group committee.
